Storage that’s close enough to be useful
Offsite storage only works if you can get records back when you need them. A facility several hours up the motorway turns every urgent request into a next-day request at best. Our records centre is in Orpington, in the London Borough of Bromley; and our London office is on Borough High Street, SE1.
| How you need it | When it arrives | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Emergency delivery | Within two hours of your request | Litigation, audits, urgent client queries |
| Standard delivery | Next day, for requests before 3pm | Routine file requests |
| Scan on demand | Sent electronically, no physical delivery | One document needed by someone working remotely |
| Permanent return | Collected and returned in our own vans, with no withdrawal fee | Ending a retention period in-house, changing approach |
Storage options for every kind of record
Boxed and open-box storage
Files are stored together in barcode-referenced boxes. With open-box storage, individual folders can be retrieved without recalling the whole box.
Open file storage
For records you still need regularly, such as live matters or active projects, each file is referenced and stored individually.
Fire-safe storage
Business-critical originals, such as deeds, contracts and signed agreements, can be held in fire-safe storage for an extra layer of protection.
Drawings and plans
Large-format drawings are stored in triangular tubes, which preserve them far better than round tubes.
Fewer boxes to pay for
Our file-saver technology compresses hole-punched documents and can cut the number of boxes you need to store by up to 50%.
Backup tapes and media
We also store backup tapes and digital media under the same security.
How your records are protected
- Site security: Electronically controlled access, CCTV monitored around the clock and secure perimeter fencing.
- Fire and intrusion: Fire and intruder alarms linked directly to the emergency services.
- Chain of custody: Every box is barcoded at collection and tracked through our online system, so you can see where any record is at any time.
- Our own transport: Collections and deliveries use Dajon’s own vans and staff, never a third-party courier.
- Certified processes: Our information security is certified to ISO 27001, alongside ISO 9001 for quality and ISO 14001 for environmental management.
Clear pricing, with no exit penalty
Many storage contracts are cheap to enter and expensive to leave, because the provider charges a fee for every box you permanently withdraw. Dajon doesn’t charge permanent withdrawal fees, and there is no minimum invoice, so small archives aren’t penalised.
Combine that with file-saver compression and you pay to store fewer boxes, with no penalty if you later scan or destroy them.
Switching from another provider
If your archive is with another provider, we’ll plan the move with you and barcode every box as it arrives, so your inventory is complete from day one.
“From day one, we have found Dajon extremely helpful, courteous and understanding of our requirements… the service we have received since we changed our provider has been nothing short of faultless.” – Kriss Ingram, Senior Operations Specialist, CivicArts

From storage to digital, when you’re ready
Storage doesn’t have to be permanent. We can scan individual files as you request them, digitise the whole archive in our London scanning facility, or securely destroy records once their retention period ends.
- Scan on demand: Pay to digitise only the files you actually use.
- Document scanning in London: Convert the whole archive and stop paying for boxes.
- Confidential destruction: Shredding to BS EN 15713 by a registered waste carrier, with a certificate of destruction for your audit trail.
“For many years now Dajon have been storing our files in archive boxes, saving us valuable storage space and keeping our records secure.” – J. Sidhu, Director, Corporate Risk Associates
