Are you ready for a relaxing Christmas?

Time to take a break!

Getting away from work is a great way to improve your productivity; feeling tired, sluggish and worn out slows you down and makes you less efficient, neither of which are great for your career or business. With some simple to implement tips you can make sure that you really enjoy your break and return refreshed and raring to go!

1. Leave your laptop at home

Avoid temptation by leaving your laptop at home if you go away – you really can do without it, and your mind will thank you for it later when you come back refreshed and relaxed.

2. Plan for 2015

Think about what you already have in the pipeline for 2015 and how you are going to manage the workload in your company. Consider workflow automation as a great way to enforce your expertise and bring your business processes to life, freeing up you and your team to be more productive and better prepared.

3. Know when to stop

Make a decision about when you’re going to halt work for Christmas – and stick to it – even if it’s late on Christmas eve, you’ll appreciate not having an open-ended start to your holiday.

4. De-clutter the office

It’s time to deal with all of those boxes of paper cluttering up your office. Get them scanned into electronic format; reduce required storage space and associated costs by using an intelligent, organised filing and archive system – all accessed from your computer.

5. Let your out-of-office do its job

There’s a reason why ‘out-of-office’ auto-replies exist. Let this useful feature do the job that it’s supposed to, so you can forget about your emails for a few days at least. No-one is indispensable and generally-speaking most requests can wait, especially at Christmas.

6. Have fun!

Remember, this is an opportunity to relax and enjoy the company of family and friends. The “work to live, not live to work” motto is important – if only at this time of the year!
